G-ville 5/30

Postby Mike Egan » Sat May 30, 2009 4:15 pm

Got there late. Waited for the wind to starting reading and so I missed the first hour. Still a great day with about 45 mins of powered to under but still planing . I was on a 6.9 and 117liters. Then it back down and I went into freestyle mode for about 2 hours until there was no wind. Josh joined me for the expression session lots of fun. Ken looked well powered all morning on a 7 and then a 9. Going again tomorrow weather permiting.

According to Josh there was nothing until after 8:00. I got there at 8:30 and had 45 minutes of full speed rides on the 7.0 and the S-Type. I came in to switch to a lighter wetsuit and it died back. I quickly rigged the 9.0 and had a fun hour on it. I know I am on the comeback trail when I can finally sail the 9.0 that I purchased in 2007. I also enjoyed watching Mike and Josh doing the Freestyle moves. It was a fun sesh on a morning that nothing was predicted. Unlike last week, the lakeshore wasn't a solid wall of fisherman's chairs.

Sailing both the Gorge and Utah on my 8'2" HiTech and my 3 Starboards; Sonic 85L, S-Type 115L, and Carve 135L. Small quiver is Northwave, larger sails are Ezzy and Sailworks. Often in my white Odyssey but also in my wife's motor home.
