Arrived 4:30 to see 2 sails ripping. Speedster Gary on a 6.0, and Larry 6.3 My problem.....no small gear, most of my gear is in the Gorge. Eric saved the day and had a fin we could use, in the smallest board we had, the 106. Smallest sail a 6.5. I was a bit worried that the 6.5 was going to be way to much. From the looks of things, I would have normally rigged a 5.4. But I rigged the 6.5 flat, and took off. It worked out just fine, and I had a blast, weaving in and out of the mini swell. The water felt good, wind was really steady! I sailed just about an hour, then handed over the rig to Linda. She had a great time too, and had a big smile on her face. Kevin was out on a 5.0 ripping all over, and Mark on a 5.8 getting plenty of rides too. It was nice to meet Larry and his wife Connie, who live a mile or so down the road! A very nice sailing evening!

I must be on the wrong side of the wind. I was in Lindon with Rod and Shawn. They got 6.9 and 7.5 and got some good rides. I was on the small side and couldn't get it going. Wish I had rig the 6.6. . .

Sometimes the wind just is not as good/clean/steady/strong at Lindon - Not sure if it is a slight direction thing or what, but like yesterday it sounded like other spots on the lake had much smoother wind. I got on the water at 5:45 and it appears to have backed off a bit by then - as was mentioned about Lincoln. But there were a lot of holes in the wind at Lindon also. I would get on a plane for a good reach and then hit a hole for a 100 yards or so, then fight to get back on a plane. When they get new roads going to the other side of the lake I will have to venture over there more often - right now fighting the traffic through Lehi does not seem worth it.

Try heading south. Provo boat harbor has bigger swell and smoother wind then Lindon.

Or go sail amongst the teabaggers at Lincoln.

Lindon is tough on a North wind. Having sailed both sides of the lake and sailed from one side to the other - Saratoga is better. If staying on the east side then go south.

Provo Boat Harbor... Bigger swell? No thanks. Please not that, not yet. But smoother wind would be nice. I guess I will have to give it a try. Or maybe Lincoln, it might be fun to just watch the kiters. Or maybe I could impress them by attempting to jump the jetty on a “pole board”. How far is Lincoln from a hospital? And Rod I think you missed the goods. You are right, by 5:30 the wind was degrading fast.
