Wind! Finally some wind!! Apparently a weak cold front sneaked through the state, providing DC with the first real wind in a week. Unusually (even for DC) gusty and shifty wind - periods of near dead calm punctuated by short, sharp gusts into the 20s. But it sure beat the almost total lack of wind we've had up here for the 5 days.

Noticed a two-seater BMW parked at DCBB as I drove by and saw a black and orange kite in the air right before I launched, but it quickly disappeared.

Air temp: 50
Water temp: 48

BRRRR! I thought I was a windaholic, but Jim's got it severe. That Kiter was Peter for sure, he's crazy too. ;))

depends on your definition of crazy? billy flying 1000 yds. of the deck at 100ft. :))) ? or just riding some wind? I plan on going out friday. Jim has a dry suit. Personaly i think it is time for snow, but why fight it? I have a dry suit, fleece under, nice hat and new gloves. I would not kite in offshore winds, but I will kite in onshore DCBB because I feel safe. Who knows at this rate it could be weeks before there is enough snow to kite. Get it while you can!!!!

Yeah, I mean hell - I'm flying to Florida for 10 days and it looks like ONE day might have 15 mph wind. Sweet. Use it while you've got it!

Chris, never believe a 10 day forecast. I used to sweat about forecasts, just take it one day at a time and bring all of your kites.
