Yesterday the winds were less than predicted. Today it was the opposite. Just enough to keep me moving on my 13m but not much more. Probably 12mph SW. I started kiting at 1:30 and left at 3:00. The winds seemed to be picking up when I left. Saw Andy again with a couple of newbies. The snow is getting chopped up and needs to be refreshed. I'll try again tomorrow.

Augie,
Wind strength is often difficult to predict. I appreciate your reports as it helps me get a better idea of what is actually happening out there. I also appreciate any insights from one and all. I am still a novice at forecasting. Craig is the wind forecasting jedi. I am merely a padawan.
I upped the wind strength today based on some of the wind speeds being generated on the mountain tops this AM on the observation page. I was burned a number of times last year when the models were showing no wind, but pull up an observation map and it is just nuking out there.

On Suday I spoke with Brian and he said that it was still not too good at Monte. He said the snowmobile tracks were covered but there was lots of sage still sticking up
