About 1:30 Dave and I stopped by Strawberry River and saw some really good wind and lots of kites in the air. Dave really wanted to check out his favorite spot just south of ladders. When we got there is was blowing 25 in the parking lot. We setup on the lake and rode lit up for 3+ hours. The lake was a little wind blown but not to crusty. The snow got better the deeper into the lake I went. Dave headed for the hills on his 12M Manta. He had lots of nice glides and fresh tracks. We were joined by another guy a little after we got there. A couple more came through on a down winder. Most epic day I have had in my very limited experience.

Truly the best day of the year so far! I'm amazed that more people don't go down to what I like to refer to as the skatepark area . . but I don't mind - more fresh tracks for us! Cornices, bowls, rock ledges, all sorts of fun terrain features. Some sage here and there but not really enough to be an issue. I suspect after todays storm it'll mostly be covered completely. We'll hit it up again tomorrow!

Very nice frame grabs from the GoPro. Is that the 164 Twisted board? And what type bindings are in the photos? Looks fun. More wind Thursday. WG

fred was on a twisted. i was on a k2 turbo dream 164. it's a rocker board with clicker bindings. I've got a twisted as well. i like both but the k2 seems a little more friendly if there's hard pack under the surface. the reverse side cut was killing me up at soldier. still need more time on both in deep powder to form am opinion but the twisted might have the advantage there. today could be the test!
