Abrupt appearance of SW wind at about 9:30. On the ice, my wind meter was reading in the high 20s with gusts to 30. About 2-3" of corn snow covering the ice. Not sure I could handle that much wind even with my 5.0 but decided to give it a try anyway. Fortunately for me, by the time I got set up, the wind had backed off noticeably, and I was powered about right. Unfortunately, the wind continued to back off, and I ended the session with a loop-a-thon back to the parking area. Impulses continued to move though, so I went out again at 3, this time with a 7.5 Frenzy. Pretty well powered on a run up to DCIB and most of the way back but again ended the session having to do lots of kite loops to get back to the car.
