I went to Mona on Sunday and got a little time on my 5.9 and slolom board. It was pretty spotty and weird. But the good news is I didn't have to work on Mon so I took my trailer and camped. You aren't supposed to but I stayed right there by the lake. I don't think anyone cares this time of year. Anyway,I was awakened @ 6 A.M. by the wind shaking the trailer. Couldn't go back to sleep so I cooked a nice breakfast and some Kona Coffee. The sky was clear and after the Sun came over the mountain the wind cranked up a notch. It was a steady 22-25 and out of the right direction(straight out of the South)and filled in all the way accross the lake.(No wind shadow at all in the launch area)So I rigged the 5.9 again and it was perfect. I sailed from 8:30 to 11:30 with some of the steadiest wind I've seen in a long time. I sailed way up by those trees on the other side and got a good look at some new, young Osprey that look like they were just learning to fly.Really cool. The only reason this out of shape guy was able to stay out that long is the wind was soooo steady. I had a real good time even though I was all alone. Just after noon the clouds started to move in and the wind clocked @ to the S.W. and got pretty gusty I rigged my 4.7 and smaller board and went out but only for about 20 minutes because it was total rip + schlog. And seeing as how there was nobody there to call 911 for me, I called it a day. But the A.M. sesh was a blast. We close this Sun and I'll be heading down to Mojave @Tuesday. So I probably won't see you at Brewvies on Weds. But hope to see you on the water real soon.Come down to Mojave if you can. See ya. Tom W.
