6/7/10 Utah Lake, Pelican, 80 liter & 4.2

Didn't see that coming. Thinking light UL I brought my big slalom gear and threw in the 94 just in case. No one there when I arrived. Rigged 5.5 at 4pm but coulda been on my full gorge gear. The 5.5 sesh lasted 45 min but was really way too much. Rigged 4.7 and got another sesh but still really too powered. Left at 6:30 to filled in Pelican. Don't know what others were on but 4.2 would have been fine for me, and smaller board too. That's pretty much Gorge conditions for me. Dust storms on the beach.

Warm water and a very op 4.6 and 80 liters. 4.0 was the call for the first 1.5 I was on the water. Around 7 the 4.6 was good.

Brad and I were trying to sail at Lindon - I was on a 6.0 as it did not appear that windy up on the road. After getting out past the reeds it was full on survival sailing and the wind seemed to build each run. After a half hour, my forearms were crying uncle. Brad later tried a 4.2 and was not doing much better. There was a guy on the beach rigging a 10 meter kite - we came in and warned him that it would not be a good idea to go out on that.
Where did all of that wind come from?
