After spending some time reading about Rush Lake I decided to take another look at our local puddle in the Cedar City valley called Quichapa which I've been told in Paiute means $hit water. I tried surfing there about 4 years ago with the junk I bought off Ebay, not the best experience. If you've ever spent any time in Cedar City, you know the wind blows almost every day and with our great snowpack, the dry lake bed is now about 3-4 feet deep, the challenge is finding a way to get in without sinking to your knees.
I did some scouting last night and found a couple of decent put ins. The wind was blowing at the airport is 18 g32, this lake is in the same valley with a south prevailing, never ending wind. I started mid morning and windsurfed until the bowl of cereal had worn off with some great screaming runs and a bunch of lousy jibes, I had a blast! Overall it's a pretty good place if you can stay out of the muck.
