We arrived @ 3 Mile on the 19th, and setup camp right next to the river. What a great spot. We got to sail 4.7 that afternoon, which was quite holey, but we had some fun and good rides, a nice welcome back to the Gorge. We headed for Central Gorge area the next day, which was kinda grey and cold, that day and many that followed. Weather was much colder this year, and the wind felt.....not as solid as it usually is, especially, for the first week. Week 2 seemed to fill in a little better and warmed a bit. We sailed every day but one. Quite a few @ the Hackery and a few @ Dougs. I used every sail I had, and sailed my 92 ltr board more than past years. Not quite as crowded this year either, well at least until last weekend. We sailed the 4th at the Hackery, which was full but not crazy full. It was a perfect 4.7 day, for me. We got several hrs of almost alone time, near Wells Island. with very little traffic....we had the sweeeet swell, pretty much to ourselves, oh so fun! It was such a good end the trip day! Can't wait to go back.
