Fun stuff. A bit gusty but that's G-ville and I'll take it. Dimo, Grant, John, and Dave helped round out the fleet for a good showing in the rocky desert. Wish I were there earlier. Had some misadventures getting through my transitions, must be the lack of sleep.

Kinda petered by 10 making it easier to pack up and go to work.

Hey Grantsville rippers....The pic`s are coming! Duane Karren spent 1 1/2 hrs on the east side of the reservoir taking pictures. He took about 150 of them so he`s gotta sort through the good the bad and the ugly! Stay tuned he`ll be posting them soon....Grant

I decided to remove 10 inchs off the front of my board. Other than that great day at G-ville. 4.7 and 100l or 93.4l now.

Water has warmed up rather nicely. Shorty weather.

As I was packing up the Army started blowing up stuff. The clouds of dust were going up a couple hundred feet in the air. We could count off 12 to 13 seconds before the sound would reach us. 5 seconds or so per mile right?

Sound travels at 1 kilometer(klick) per second. You know, one onethousand, two onethousand. That's how we estimated distances in VietNam. From the time you saw the flash to the time you heard the explosion. That's how far away the enemy was. Sometimes not even a second would go by.

I now understand why we lost the war! Considering the speed of sound is 340m/s and not 1km/second ;)

Yeah I looked it up and it said 3 seconds to each Kilometer and 5 seconds to each Mile.

My niece is a chemical engineer who just got her first job out of graduation from the U of U...

Where does she work? T.A.D Tooele Army Depot ... I'll have to ask her about it.

PS speed of sound (m/s) = 331.5 + 0.60 T(°C)

Just in case, :88= F=C9/5 + 32

~4.5 secs/mile or 2.8 secs/kilometer... You're gear is safe! phew! At least from the TAD.

Not even going to touch your comment Manny! Except to say it's one of the funniest things I've read in a long time and Wit, that "Objects in Mirror are closer than they appear"... That's a little scary they were 60% closer than you thought!
