Saturday Mano a Mona

Postby Trip Houk » Mon Aug 30, 2010 9:17 am

:))) It looks as if everyone conered all possible bodies of water this weekend! Although I hate to threaten my reputation for rarely posting: I took heart from Craig's forcast and headed for Mona at about 10:00 Saturday morning. For reference, Mona is exactly 1 hour door to door from Sandy. I thought I'd see some familiar faces but in fact was the only person there for the first few hours. The wind was steady south pushing high 20's but I rigged a 5.2 and a 95L board for margin. Woah...tail walked for a few reaches before coming in and rigging a 4.2 and pulling out an 86L. At about 1:00, it shifted south west and became a little gustier. I had one of the best days ever down there but wish I could have shared it with friends. Mona still has plenty of water and no weeds. The water was the perfect temprature with a shorty. The waves were smoothe rollers and I had some of the fastest down wind runs ever. It'll probably be too shallow in a few weeks so get it while you can. p.s. The Doobie Brothers were outstanding last night! (oh I forgot this isn't Twitter%^%^*^*
