Hmmmm? Maybe I could get a big sail and transport oil and other commodities across the lake. You remember, it's a mode of transportation! ;)) 87 miles wouldn't be too bad going crosswind. Downwind would be tough... DC does the Gorge 17-20 miles downwind in about an hour. So it wouldn't be too bad. I hope they had a boat following them. I didn't see if they did.

And yes I do remember the posts on kites helping to pull ocean ships/tankers... I wonder if a 100 windsurfing sails on an ocean tanker could move it? It'd be like a Viking Ship, only windsurfers, just sit up there and whip the windsurfers if they dropped their sails... ok, now I'm getting way off topic... ps... that zmags site is pretty cool.
