10/29 Jordanelle 14m

With the same SE component we've seen the last few days, I figured DC again wouln't happen. Had also been noticing the mayflower guage was putting up pretty good readings and was again today. Best session I've ever had at JBay. Relatively smooth for there. Kited from 4 til 5:30 when the wind died abrupty. Readings were stronger early afternoon and there was probably enough wind for the 10m when I first arrived but glad I went 14. Varied from big board cruising to lit on the small board.

I thik yuba is the call for tomorrow. More wind, less rain than up here.

Jordanelle sounds like a good call. For the first time in several days, there actually was wind at DC, but, at least early on when I was there, it consisted of prolonged lulls interspersed with short, infrequent gusts. Better than nothing, I guess. As I drove home past Barbed Wire Beach, a couple of kiters (John Guay was one of them, I think) were setting up; hopefully they got better wind than I did.

Despite recent nighttime lows in the 20s, the DC water temp is still a quite tolerable 55F.
