I spent the last two weeks in NZed. The wind co-operated for only a few of those. There were alot of days where the wind was off-shore or nuking so I couldn't go out. I did alot of surfing and some excellent fly fishing. I had a couple of days kiting with side-onshore wind, with heavy crashing waves. Scary fun. And a day that made lugging the kiting gear worth it. Sideshore wind with nice waist to head high waves. The thing was, I was the only kiter out. I never saw another kiter the whole time. It was intimidating venturing out into water I wasn't sure about. Adventure is fun
