12-27 & 12-28, Skyline, powder and 10-12m kites

Monday we made the afternoon session and joined the other dozen kiters at Skyline. 10-12 meter kites were powered with plenty of fresh powder tracks to be scored. The wind was due West on Monday, making it perfect for ridge line tours all the way out, and even behind the trees at bosco. You could even kite up between the trees and then either ski or glide down. I enjoyed the sensation of carving powder turns while others tested the strength of their kite lines.

Tuesday was perfect all day, we made the dawn patrol and filmed a Snowkite Masters commercial with the KiteSites.com crew. The wind was steady and powered on 11-13m kites until noon, when it got a bit lighter. Still plenty of power on the hills. Today was due South, and opened up all the powder filled gully's and rad sessions on the extreme south faces. The south side of Bosco's was the place to carve steep turns and glide.

The new Frenzy's are fast, even on a 13m I hit mid 30's mph on a snowboard.

Slawek is in town and debuting a sneak peak of his new Snowkite Movie tonight at the Triangle Bar (Skyline Yacht Club). Ken Lucas was riding with us both days, in from the Gorge. Nice to see some sleek tele turns, I like the way the skis hang down when Ken jumps and glides, I think all gliders should be on tele skis

Great day, nice powder, awesome sunshine and blue skies, perfect wind and a great crew. I was so worn out by 3pm that I am back at the orifice posting this.

oh yeah, the parking lot is still snowed in 5-7 feet deep. But the snow eater was on its way when we left. Road side parking is no problem, but man is it nice to be off the road, makes me realize how lucky we are to have a parking lot to sprawl out in. Had to shovel stairs just to get up the bank to get kites unrolled.

to say except my tailbone is brused from a botched road gap off Bosco.
Nailed it twice but then joined the "Peter Miller Club" on the third.
