2/14 strawbs river

Postby bordy » Tue Feb 15, 2011 10:11 am

After a long wait with Derry Mac, Chris SHerwin, Eric a friend of his from CA, and Linda and Sara at the Marina for some nasty clouds to roll through, We all packed it in and every one headed out, Chris first then Linda n Sara followed by Myself and then D. No wind total skunkville for us all.... Well not all of us I saw some wind sign by the river, pulled over to check it out, flagged Derry Down as he drove by and we both went out and rode Powered 14 from 430 till dark, The moon was out and the skys cleared just as the wind came in. It was super gusty, misarable wind but after the long wait it was awsome. Riding the river on a SW is a blast and we got to play with terrrain that is only accesable when it is SW what a treat... So Sorry the rest of the crew headed out just a few minutes before it filled in there was plenty of wind for everyone!

Add me to the skunk out list. I drove by there around 3:30 and saw the snow removal guy having hard time getting pass an icy spot. I gave him a lift back to UDot and then left.

Rachel and I gave up the wait at the marina at about 2:15, drove around to the cabins and then headed to home depot field. It was so light there by then we bagged it and went home. It's amazing to me how windy it was in the valley yet there was none at strawberry. Looking forward to this big storm wave.
