2/27, Strawberry River, butterfly dream!

Postby Leo Chan » Sun Feb 27, 2011 9:19 pm

My wing broke out of the cocoon around 12:30 at Strawberry River, to find blue sky, soft snow and plenty of wings on the hill side. Envious, I quickly flew towards them. On the way, I saw the slopes to the east barely touched. I detoured towards the untracked slopes and left my marks with my skis. The condition seem prime for soaring. With each attempt, it seems as if I was going higher and higher, trying to reach the clouds. Only the raven and a small field rat kept me companied for about an hour. I switched to snowboard around 2 and found John Guay with his big wing coming off the hill on the southeast side. We had fun there for couple more hours. We packed up around 4, tired, but very satisfied. Pascal and Wayne from Wyoming and 10 other kiters all shared the gift from Mother Nature in this glorious and dreamy day. I want to always fly like a butterfly. . .

No problem. I had to do a little bit of digging myself because the snow was so soft. Don't park in any unplowed lot from now on. U-Dot is trying to save some $$.
