Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. South southwest wind between 6 and 10 mph.
Well, they were right about the direction. Fortunately, their wind speed prediction turned out to be on the low side.
Pretty gusty. My 6.0 worked well in the bigger gusts, but wasn't quite enough to get me up on a plane in the smaller ones. Judy (using a 5.5m and the 291 Fanatic Megashark that I sold her sometime in the previous millenium) was planing in all the gusts. Dave O' rigged a 7m (I think that's what it was) and was getting rides until the wind fizzled. I made the sacrifice at that point, and the wind did come back; don't know whether anyone stayed around for its second coming.
And Chucktown continues to hold its own in the bird watching department. The two pairs of swans that have been patrolling the river mouth weren't in evidence today, but there was a fly over by a large flock of white pelicans.
