6/29 Wed. G'ville 5.7 sumo 105

G'ville fooled all the specialists, me most of all. I got there extra early, then sat around rigged for hours, it seemed, while it was 7.5 or 8.0, until John and Ken showed. Promptly, then, it picked up and I got some mostly marginal 5.7 for about 50 minutes. Planers, but with the punky SSE wind, it never filled in completely. Left at 9:00 as a sacrifice so those 2 could have fun (actually had a customer meeting at 10:00, which I easily made). Was astonished to hear that SLC was reporting, "winds, calm" on the drive back. Weird morning. Hope it fills in somewhere for the PM crowds.

Uncharacteristically... it didn't start blowing when Dimitri left... we had to wait another hour or so... finally the wind picked up, and we proceeded to sail, rig down, sail some more, rig down, sail some more, rig down...
(Ken: 7.0m / 6.0m / 4.7m ---- 110L / 85L / 75L)
(John: 5.7m / 4.7m ---- 109L / 85L / 72L)
We both had to leave about 12:30 to go to meetings... or we would have had to rig down (again)... big wind blasts coming across the lake, trying to pick us up and slam us down...
