Mona Saturday something

Postby David Kyle » Sun Jul 17, 2011 12:01 am

Dropped by the pond and was surprised to see some kites on the beach.
Brian and his bride were chillin and an instructor with two pupils, which one was quite
a nice ;)) ;)) Wind was typical Mona teaser wind but I got some riding in on 17M.
I was only able to pull one lousy trick (which wasn't that lousy) the whole day, it was more of
a sink or swim day for me.

Arrived to Mona after noon, south flow just started. By 1pm the wind came in a solid line, and after pumping the 17m in the lighter breeze, I pulled out the 13 meter Zulu as the wind came in strong for an hour, which was an obvious front, as it was followed by a calmer yet steady wind flow.

Large kite was the call after that as it was on or off with SW Thermals coming and going blocking the south flow.

Left at 4pm, so don't know how it went after that, but there was a 3-4 hour after noon window of wind.
