7/30 Rush 13 & 16m

Postby Kenny » Sun Jul 31, 2011 12:13 am

Arrived around 2:30. The wind was up and down cycling every 5 minutes or so. 5 minutes at 12 and then 5 at 18 - 20. Started out on a 16m with good power, never had to pull in the depower strap. However, I have a new Gin 13m so I decided to give it a try. I had enough power to ride, but it was less exciting. Another rider named Brad flew a Fuel with a surfboard and an RPM with a skim board. He was getting some good rides. Water was warm and skies were clear, a nice day to be out.

It is true about the weeds. They are thick and wicked. You don't want to drop your kite or fall in as the weeds will swallow you whole. The paradox to the weed issue is that they make the surface of the water butter smooth. So if you board conservatively the riding is simply awesome. Drop the kite or fall in and the weed monster ensnares you like a bug.
