Just got back from kite skiing Upper Lake Creek. I bet I hit 100 buried objects in 90 minutes. My serrated edge rock skis are hilariously gouged. It's nice to have independent leg action out there. If you venture out on a snowboard, you will go down more often.
Drove the 4 Runner with snow tires and about 12 inches of clearance. Road had up to 12 inches of snow on it. One more storm and the top probably won't be reachable. But you should be able to get close enough to do the walk with up to 10 more inches. I was surprised to see as much snow as there was. 6-10 inches on the hill. VERY boney, but good enough for a fix. I'll go tomorrow if there is wind. An Outback might make it, but no guarantees.
Zero wind until we got to the parking area, and then it was plenty windy for 13m and 12m.
