11/15 Where to ride amongst bushes

Postby Kenny » Tue Nov 15, 2011 10:19 am

Expect gusty winds in the mid to upper teens with possible snow flurries. Check out Peter or Billy's videos in the wind log for an idea of the coverage. Challenging conditions for anyone that is not an advanced rider.

Wednesday is looking light right now - probably around 10 - 12 mph.

Thursday the wind picks up again at Skyline with mid to upper teens.

The weekend is promising another storm, which is just what we need.

Skyline is dangerously thin and a foolish place to ride amongst rocks and grass. Not worth the drive to ride in a soccerfield of landmines. And after 3 days its tracked out, with tracks digging up dirt. Don't come to Skyline, its silly and foolish until a couple more feet hit.

Actual depth is 8 inches or so, mostly light baseless snow due to cold and wind.

I am a fool for riding in todays thin conditions... I put out a fair warning because I would feel horrible if I heard of anyone getting hurt riding up there with so many rocks both hidden and exposed. I have several new dings and scratches on my board, and several near misses that could have done serious damage to my noggin in the powered 10m winds. I packed it in after a short session because I felt it was foolish to push my luck any further. I would prefer have fun kiting on a safer day. Also watch out for the T-posts that are barely exposed near the normal launching area.

Winters almost here, and its gonna be epic, no sense getting whacked before the goods arrive.

Windzup,
Brian Schenck.
