For as long as I have kited with Tyler, he has occasionally mentioned his desire for an epic downwinder from Lindon to SSB or Lincoln. Well, today was the day. We were at the beach while it was blowing straight west and watched as it turned north in almost the blink of an eye. Chris Sherwin showed up and we pumped our 7M kites. We were also joined by a girl kiter named Jaimie. After a couple failed attempts to start our journey (equipment malfunctions, tangled lines, Tylers head getting split on a board fin, etc.) we eventually shoved off.
The wind was heavy and fast, perfect for a 7. We rode down past Provo boat harbor and the airport before adjusting our tack to SSB. Our adventure was everything I imagined it would be. Sore legs, huge swell in the middle of the lake, and good wind. Will likely do it again someday.

P.S. I hope Tyler posts the picture we took of his split head. Hint, Hint.
