I don't usually post sessions because I usually don't have a whole lot to talk about- you know I showed up, rode, had fun....
I guess it's worth mentioning, however, that I have, for the first time, kited DC for 7 days in a row. Now I'm not gonna lie and say the wind was epic everyday in fact it has been borderline at best most of the days (today probably being the worst). But it has been super fun, good cast of characters particularly for the Games, I have achieved some of my highest strapless airs both on skim and surf, nailed countless shuvits, pop shuvits, surface spinning handle passes etc. that I am feeling pretty good about the whole thing. Pumped everything from 8m to 14m.
I think it was Tuesday 6/26 when i stuffed a jump, flew the kite back the other direction to get my board just in time to see Sherwin in the air as high as I have ever seen him. Can't put a # on it but it was huge. Landed and took off again just as high. Man. I would like to see Jim's wind graph from that day in particular....pretty sure you have been there everyday with other sailors.
With such a windy season so far with somewhere around 45 days in I would like to thank:
1) my former employer for having the short sightedness to ship my job "overseas" at greater expense to them. The soul searching has sucked but the extra time on the water a nice escape.
2) my wife for being the breadwinner, letting me drive her car, and not guilting me for kiting while she works.
3) my dog for staying at home mid-day cuz it's too hot for hounds.
4) people for coming out and kiting with me.
5) Craig....
