8/15 Silver Strand 21m

One of the better days I have had kiting. The wind was blowing 12 - 15 all afternoon. Yesterday, the wind was about the same and I shared the water with 8 other kiters. A few of them had to walk the beach. Today, I had the beach all to myself. It was great riding the flat water in the break. I had enough power for 10 foot airs which are super floaty on the 21. The wind was super steady. The sweet thing about the 21 is that you can ride powered up in sub-par wind conditions. The nice thing about sub-par wind is that the water is so smooth. Even on the outside there is a glassiness to the surface. The other nice thing is that my family was perfectly content to stay at the beach because the sand wasn't blowing around. I took my kids body dragging in the water, we would drag out past the break. I would have them hold onto my harness as I looped into shore. Even in conditions that light there was enough power to completely lift both of us out of the water on each loop. Silver Strand is just an ideal place to visit with the fam if you want to ride.
