Chasta Utah Video

Postby Marty Lowe » Sun Aug 20, 2006 10:43 am

Ya gotta check out this video of Chasta...
Most of it is in Utah last winter.

16 minutes long,,
but worth the long download time.

I was lucky enough to ride with him on the day at Strawberry,
when he was getting the long flights off the top of the hill..

Simply amazing..........

That was cool seeing our backcountry featured as the backdrop for some very smooth riding and boosting.

The only part that did not look familiar was the road jumping scenes. Looked more like Europe to me. I think I have seen that area featured in other snowkiting flicks.

This video makes me think we should put together a video with our own homegrown talent. Sure no one of us has the combined skills of Chasta, but if you take footage of all the airs from the group, it would be pretty impressive. At least the wipeouts would be spectacular. All we have to do is take turns manning a video camera at Skyline, Pow Mow, and Strawberry. The only trick is finding someone to do the edit. Who is interested?

My father-in-law put together rocket videos for a living. Since a couple of explosions put his company out of business, he's been living in our basement. I could probably talk him in to videoing and editing you guys. Plus he should have a couple of sleds by then which could aid in access. I'll talk to him when he gets back from his trip. Otherwise, I'll shoot while you fly.

Stokes, try this. Right click on the video link, then click "save as" and save the file to your hard drive. Then watch.

Marty,

It is pretty beautiful stuff... But I gotta tell ya... Take a look at these two links (probably again) for some truly SICK SICK, DEATHLY ILL stuff... ;)

http://www.continentseven.com

Specifically look at the "high jumps" by Jonas Ceballos

http://www.naish.tv

click on the windsurfing side :) and check out the day at Kona, and Jaws... But some of the freestyle stuff is beyond comprehension!

Some windsurfers have told me they've done everything there is to do on a sailboard... I say, I can't wait to see it! ;) And no I'm not talking about you! Your excuse is that it hurts! (hurtszz)
