Doug, Jim and I,
got a few late afternoon rides.
At Middle Inlet. (not windsurf point)

I've seen more than a couple of times (in the fall) ,
when Craig posts no, or low wind.
that Pineview offers some late afternoon rides.

I've always wanted to go there. What are the best indicators? Is the windsurf rigging/launch area obvious? You sly dogs, taking lemons, making lemonade; so resourceful.

The best indicator I know,
is when Jim is on his boat,
he calls, and says "there is a wind line"
Then it's only a 20 min drive.

Almost 20 years of trying to predict wind at Pineview,
It's the most unpredictable hunk of water I know of.
It will blow one day, and with the same conditions the next,
there won't be any wind.

I am starting to put some faith into my,,
"when Craig calls for no wind" theory.

Windsurf beach is just after the dam,
on the north side,
trailhead parking lot.

We usually only kite when the water is low enough,
that if we have to float in when the wind dies,
there is enough shore line,
so the kites don't get into the twigs/trees.
2 of us floated in when the wind died yesterday.
