Election Day, DCIB

Postby JimSouthwick » Tue Nov 07, 2006 9:08 pm

From a near dead calm, the wind reached Charleston abruptly at 2 PM. Unfortunately, despite the presence of whitecaps, it seemed weaker and a lot gustier at IB than at my house (usually it's the other way around.) George arrived shortly after I did, and we discussed checking out SBB but ultimately decided to give it a try at IB. An 8.5 on a Formula board yielded about 50% planing. Definitely not a nuker, even by DC standards, but at least it wasn't cold - air 64, water 54. And the water level is up considerably, reducing the trek to the water to about 30 yards.
