Who is going to check for snow?

I wonder if PowMow and Skyline will have enough snow to ride after the Monday/Tuesday storm. Is anyone going to check either location to see if they are rideable before next weekend?

Powder Mountain got about a 12 to 18. Less in wind scoured areas. The riding (not kiting) in wind sheltered areas was decent. Not sure how it measured up near the towers, didnt got that far. I will try and get up there after this next storm.

Hi Kenny, The storms did not hit as strong towards the South. I checked the webcam yesterday at Skyline and there was not any snow, today there is a dusting so it looks like Powder Mountain might be the best call.

Thank you for the reports. Let's hope the actual amount of snow that falls today and tomorrow meets or exceeds the forecast. Both locations are forecasted to receive around 20" according to the point forecast.

I will call tonight and verify the amounts and how they want to work access. They ahve had plenty of time to figure it out. I was just waiting till the snow fell to ask again. If things look good I may be taking the day off Wednesday and giving it a shot. Another thought-since it is preseason and the lifts aren't open yet, you couldn't buy a pass if you wanted to.

I might be able to join you Wednesday morning before noon.

Last time I was up there they had a lot of new no tresspasing sings up there at the gate. I think it was all due to the construction that was going on with the new lift. I'd hate for them (PM) to leave those signs up through the winter.

Someone should head up to check monte cristo too.

I was told last night that it wouldn't be any problem if I went up Wednesday but it still may be marginal snow conditions. The wind is blowing really hard and who knows where that will put the snow. I wouldn't worry about the "no tresspassing" signs and I think they were put there to keep people away from the new lift construction. I discussed the lift ticket issue with the mountain manager and he said to call back tonight because he thinks that he may be able to work out a season kiter pass. I told him that is great but what about the out of state person who just is here for the day? Anyway, stay tuned I will post more as I find out. The place is full of rumors and it really helps to have someone who I can trust in the loop.

Les, I will call you if I end up going. I am waiting to see how much snow fell and will base that upon my conversation with the mountain manager tonight.

One more rumor to think about. I heard PM got pummeled last night. I'm making this rumor up based on all the rain we got down here in eden. I'd guess two feet min of some good wet base. The winds are kicking in now with the cold front, not much cold snow yet.
