Amateur Gliding Video

I stuck a tripod in the snow at Chicken Creek East and at Skyline. I think the Strawberry clips turning out pretty good. The skyline clip is from too great of a distance.

The Skyline Snowkite Masters was a lot of fun this morning. I wish I could have stayed longer. Thanks to Brian & Heather for a great event. I am curious if the wind strengthened enough for the race. Let us all know the outcome.

Les,

I would have liked to meet you in person, next time you see me, please say hello. I hope you got a swag bag and a free Rhodes coupon from Heather.

The video quality is really lousy and the clicking sound at Strawberry is my lense cap tapping against the camcorder, I noticed that and secured it at Skyline.

I am going to start bringing the camera with me because I think it would be fun to document some of our local riders and put together a video. I had fun editing the clips on my Mac. I just wish I had someone manning the camera as the biggest problem was the sheer distances involved, especially at Skyline.

Kind of hard to say hello when your 50' off the ground. Next time Kenny, next time... I didnt get the swag bag, what is Rhodes?

Saturday afternoon wind comment: I think the winds were decent in the afternoon. I didnt get to see the race because I was teaching a clinic, but it happened. I didnt get to ride till about 4:30, but the winds were great on Bosco hill, and most of the kiters where done for the day. Rode till sunset and it made the day worthwhile.

Les,

Rhodes is a local company that I work for we sell frozen bread, roll, and cinnamon roll dough to local grocery stores. Products are found in the freezer section.

I am glad to hear that the wind came up nice in the afternoon. I got the early shift, you got the late. I always like riding when it is less crowded.

yea kenny! we have a lot of talent here and it would be great to get a video together. as a newbie, i'd be glad to do some filming. bill has offered as well, but i think he may be tied up with this in a different way. either way, i'd love to help out getting some video of our local talent. i think i'm getting some more free time to actually ski and kite and would be glad to come out and at very least video if not kite with you guys.
plus, i need to take you up on your offer kenny to help me glide....

later,

Mike

Hey Kenny,

I'm sure you realize you can delete that clicking sound,
and put in some bang'n tunes or, if you've got some reasonable
PC audio dubbing software, you could extract most of it.
I know that sound well ;*). I've been mixing sports video
(mostly windsurfing) for about 16 years now, and mixing on
a PC or MAC is a sweet deal.

I'd love to see your stuff sometime.

Mike, Jared, and Billy,

Thanks for offering to help film. I will plan on bringing my camcorder every time I go out and I would like to meet up with you guys and do some filming.

Craig,

I have to admit, I was being lazy when it came to the audio. It took me a while to figure out how to download the video. I realized the video quality was subpar, so I figured I would just throw it out there as is. Hopefully, I can get some good quality shots and use the Garageband program to put together some decent audio to accompany the video.
