Perfect morning session. Snow is supportable for cruising, but plenty of soft snow underneath for laying it over and making craters, and some soft fluff on top. Winds 10-15 from the southwest. I could easily kite from the cat track and back. It might be possible from the parking lot.

I got my first twisting jumps in today. Mostly over rotated and always leaning to far back when landing. Rotation easy, landing not so easy. Also, its so disorientating, its hard to figure out what just happened when trying to progress. I dont even know what to ask for help, but if there are any pointers that would help, I'd appreciate it.

Les,

We can help you, but I would like to know first it you are doing whip or no-whip spins. In other words, are you sending the kite or are you using progressive edging to pop off the surface and do a spin?

Les,

When you send the kite, just send it to zenith. That will give you a nice vertical jump and keep you from going off-axis on your spin. When the kite is at zenith pop off the ground and initiate your spin. I always do a couple non-spinning jumps before I do a spin to get an idea of how high I will go when I spin. You usually do not have to crank a fast spin. If you are going high, you may even want to stall it out a bit. Remember that your body will follow your eyes, so turn your head and focus on where you will land. For multiple rotations, you want more speed and power going into the jump. However, first focus on landing clean 360's before you go for multiple rotations.

Thanks for the advice. I think the trick to learning is just in doing.
