Arrived at Dc about 3:30, Charlston was glass, IB showed some wind a the gap, headed for SBB, and happy to find 3 WS'rs there. Eric out on his 9.2, Mike and Steve on mid 9's. Didn't hesitate to rig the fat gear, and jump in my artificial blubber. Not much wind at that point, thought I had missed it, But here came the next puff. Turned out pretty good from there, Mostly planning. Then the wind filled in pretty good, which produced some pretty good upwind angles, towards the damn. At that point I was welcoming some lighter wind so I could catch my breath.....Made it back to the beach, and called it good, with a smile.
It is so nice to have the water level high, and be able to have grass so close to set your gear on, when you come out of the water!
Met Bob from Wisconson....he had the right gear...10 and a long board. I'm sure he'll be back.
I pulled out just after 6, with still plannable wind behind me. I very pleasant day.
