Well, well. Biz trip found me within an hour's drive of the Delta and off I went, no suit, no harness, no nothin'. The great guys at Delta Windsurf Co. Had new JP boards, NP Alpha sails and even an old shorty and seat harness for the inlander. Wind came up late, about 4:30, and conditions were flattened 6.0. Handful of kiters and sailors out. Just got off the water about 90 minutes ago and BOY WAS IT FUN TO SAIL BAREFOOT IN A SHORTY! Tomorrow's supposed to be better. Luckily all my appts. are in the morning only...

Good question. Yep they are supposed to be right there, but all I saw were TV station trucks, both mommy ones and baby ones with some daddy ones.

Word at the Rio grocery store was that they were going to back off the herding and noisemaking to let the whales relax a bit. Some concern that wounds they have weren't healing due to the fresh water. I'm hoping one would breach in front of me this afternoon. That would be cool, but even cooler it would mean they were headed downriver from where they've been seen near the Rio bridge.

I didn't realize that the Sacramento River was deep enough for whale visits, but evidently big liners and freighters, like the one all the sailors backed away from yesterday when we were sailing, just like the Gorge, go up and down there all the time.
