I finally figured it out - For the crossing I shoulda been on 5.7, not 7.5. I just got the numbers backwards. Well, today I got it right - 5.7 was a good call for me. Duane K and I arrived at 3:30 to full whitecaps and 18-23 mph. Even coming by point of the mtn., I could see the windmills spinning away. Duane and I were on by a bit after 4:00, joined by Larry and Lewis and the four of us sailed for a couple of good hours, Larry last off at 7:20. The first hour had some schlogging as the NW and NE winds battled it out with some lulls in between really filled in sessions, particularly out in the middle and near shore. Then it filled in solid again. We figured it blew for about 4 hours from 3:00-7:00. Where was everybody? Keep an eye on the jet stream, folks, that da clue. Repeat of last week. Still North flow today, but lighter. Probably bigger sail cruising this PM again.
