Anyone knows anything about water access in Willard Bay? I will be in the area and was thinking about sailing there in the evening!

Gusts to 75 mph! Might be good at the Acid Ponds on the pre-frontal South winds. Anyone want to join me around 6:30 PM to race some semi trucks and homeward bound Wendover tourists? I'll be arriving at the I-80 Acid Ponds after work IF anyone wants to join me.

If your in the area tomorrow,
You should definatly go.
The forcast looks like the type of day Willard may get wind.
It takes a forcast of blowing dust and tipped over semi's to get good wind at Willard. IMHO
Access for windsurfing is not a problem, lack of wind is Willard's typical issue.
State Park, what is it now? $9 bucks?

Hmm... What a bad day I chose to take my last scuba cert open water dive! (2-4PM) So I'll be working for about an hour tomorrow!!!

But I'll at least be getting the morning stuff at Grantsville... But maybe the big lakes (Willard and Utah) are going to be the ready and willing with fresh morning breath!!!

SAWEET! That's not a bad new name for our AM Grantsville sessions... Morning Breath!!! Morning Thunder's also and option... If you don't know what Morning Thunder is... Google it! ha ha...

Grantsville AM... I'm not so sure I'm in the mood for 6AM "Wavy Gravy"...

I must adjust earlier comments about Willard.

I didn't know the water was so low, because of a leak in the dike,
they had to drop the water level alot to repair the leak.

It has left Willard with a big sandy beach. (that will fill with people on nice days)
It's onshore on a south wind, with pavilions down wind.
Beginners could walk to the island, rig and body drag to the beach.

The kite launch was as good as it gets.

Now if it would just blow there more often.

You can drive in from the south side and never have to pay. If the wind is out of the south then it would be an offshore or side shore launch since you can drive to the southwest corner of the dike and take your pick of whichever shore to launch from (south or west). Just get off at the exit by Smith and Edwards, head south and right before you get to Smith and Edwards take a right. You will know it is the right road when you see the motocross track within a 1/4 mile on the right. Just stay on that road and it will take you right to it. Don't turn where it says "Willard Bay South Boat Ramp". The road winds around and then you just have to climb over the dike. It may not work when the reservoir fills but I have been there when it is empty and there is a pretty good shoreline.
