First hints of wind a little before noon. Intermittent small puffs and no whitecaps when I arrived (a little after noon) so I rigged my 9.5 (after retrieving my 490 mast from the "lawn" at Charleston Bridge). Got progressively more powered up until the only point of sail that was even remotely comfortable was pinching as high as possible. Finally got back downwind to the launch, switched to a 7.5, and repeated the sequence. Ditto with the 6.6. By the time I got my fourth sail of the day (6.0) rigged, the gusts were less frequent but possibly stronger, yielding my maximum speed for the day, 26 MPH.
