DC 15M & 132 FLX

Feeling a lot of love for DC. Great afternoon with Timp in the background. Wind was a bit up and down, so I rigged big and didn't have to do any swimming or walking. Love the poltergusts that rip through there. I only caught a couple, but I love how they rip you up so high, landing them is tough as they usually are followed by a nice lull that allows you to fall like a bowling ball. Saw a fair number of sailors. I am guessing the best wind occurred before I got there late in the afternoon. There was a young couple that are newbie windsurfers. Looked like they were getting some rides and having fun in the shallows. Left around 6:30 and went to the Heber Farmers Market. Great market, very low-key with some good eats.

We polesurfers were VERY impressed, especially by the range of the Flysurfer. The wind was, indeed, steadier earlier on, with the best conditions being from about 2 to 3. The polesurfer contingent consisted of Judy Collins (5.0, I think), Mike Hill (6.0), George Ward (6.6), Ted Bird (7.5!), me (6.0), Patrick and the young couple you mentioned. It was quite cold last night (about 40); wonder if that was a factor in generating the wind?

Jim,

Yes, the newer kites have a lot more range. It also helped when I went in and grabbed a larger board mid-session. We had a moderately strong south blowing through the SLC Valley today. I figured that enhanced the wind somewhat at DC. The forecast for tomorrow looks like a bit stronger south.

Johnny,

I am sorry, I did not see your post until today. You didn't miss anything by not going yesterday (Friday). Wind was blowing 10 - 30. It was difficult to determine the right kite size.
