Nice evening - the wind turned on around 5:45 and slowly built from around 15 mph to just over 20. Great turnout with more than 10 kiters enjoying the big sandy beach and warm water. There was Jake, Billy, Mark, Arpi, Ryan, Justin, Les, John and several more. It was Billy's Birthday and I think his best present was that Mrs. Bordy got up on the board for some nice reaches. Jake, Arpi, and Ryan were throwing down the big airs which at time were spectacular. Sal lost his kite, but we grabbed it before it hit the shore. The swell was really sweet as the evening developed, very smooth and fun to carve. The flat water stretch is now difficult to access because the water is so shallow that a sandbar is blocking the way. It is rideable with a finless board. I took the first reach there and scared up a ton of carp and a large gray bird. I have no idea of what type of bird it was, but I have never seen one like it before. Really strange looking and slow flying. The sunset was memorable with some distant clouds and the moon rising. Utah is an awesome place to live.

You lucky dogs. I didn't think it was going to happen. Those evening sessions down there are a gift from god. You are all blessed

Happy Bday Billy. Sorry I missed the bbq and beer. My first ride at ssb  , lasted from when the wind picked up till the sun went down. I'm sore and happy. "Juiced" the whole time. Great tribe, proud to be a part of it, even though you're wife was the only one that would come out and land my kite.

SO much fun! Thanks for all the B-day wishes! Kenny was correct my best gift was watching the Misses Ride!!!! (and the RC plane from Jake that I have been flying all morning!) What a great way to spend my B-day riding with friends well into the night! The lightning storm was awsome to watch while kiting under the clear moonlite sky with Ryan and Sal. I hope it all happens again tonight!!!! I will be bringing the BBQ again if it happens!

Happy-bday right back at ya Ryan!

Happy Birthday To Billy, sorry to have missed the party.
seems the OZONE crew didn't get the invite to the party. I looked at the winds all afternoon and figured it wasn't going to happen. So cut the lawn instead. Missed another good one. Glad you got it. I'm still a little worn out from a 10 day run at the Gorge last week. Marty, Jeff and I had a great time but missed the gang, the 24th of July trip was one of the BEST ever.

Jon,

Hey, I am sorry that I did not call you on the way down. I sent a text to Marty. I mentioned on another post that it would be great if we had a page on the UWA site that you could send a text (i.e. SSB 15-20). The site would automatically fill-in your name, the time and date. That would be a great and useful feature.

Missed you Jon, next time I will send you a text.

Kman out.
