arived after an hour and 20 minute parking lot drive from salt lake. i drove through strong winds and some rain and thought for sure the beach was going to be too windy and stormy. as i pulled up, i realized that the storms were pretty much splitting either side of the beach wiht a somewhat clean windline heading right into lindon. kenny, arpi, and justin's kites were on the beach and had tales of a gust that came through that scared them all. bill showed up with me and sal shortly behind us. the wind completely shut off as we arrived, but soon was pumping again wiht the promise of more. i rigged my 16 and kenny went out on the silver arrow and arpi on his 16. i rode for about an hour and a half always looking over my shoulder because i was soon on the largest kite out there. bill was riding his 13 and boosting and sal was on his 14. about 7:45 a huge wind line came in and almost cleaned up all of us. i came screeming into the beach yelling at arpi to catch my kite. dropped my bar, and turned around to catch billy's kite and he did the same for sal. unfortunately, justin was caught out by the marina and had to pull his release. he drug home a 200 pound mess of ram air kite filled with water.

all in all, a good night. kenny ran off the pallet burning crew (even let the po-po know what was going on), i landed my first back roll and dealt with a large upswing in wind with a large kite, and justin got to use his e-release. we succesfully kited utah lake on a south (something i've never done).
