Once again, Craig nailed it. The wind did, indeed, come up about 2 (it first became noticeable in Charleston at about 1:30, actually) and a 7.5 (in conjunction with a wide board) worked for me. I got on the water about 2:45 and was joined about an hour later by a kiter flying a black, blue and white Flysurfer (Kenny?) who, following a brief pause for a water relaunch, rapidly disappeared to windward, reappearing at about 5 and, by virtue of some very aggressive kite flying, just succeeded in making it back to the beach in the rapidly dying wind.

The water temp continues, of course, to decrease, but is still a fairly tolerable 54F.

I was up at DCSBB from 2 - 4:30 flying a 9m with my homemade buggy (it's ghetto but fun). I saw the same kitesurfer. By 4:30 he had made it all the way to the boat ramp and was showing off for the fishermen.

Yes, that was me. I saw Jim out on the water and then I saw Josh as I approached the boat ramp. However, I didn't get to show off at all as I had to hightail it downwind to avoid a very long drift. Jason from PC had his 14M pumped up and ready to go, but the wind had dropped to 10 mph or so.

I like DC in the Fall as the wind is much more steady and there is no boat traffic.
