Mt. Ogden Golf Course/Soccer fields/10m Frenzy/tele skis

Wow, it looks like there was lots of urban kiting this weekend. I went to the Mt Ogden soccer fields Saturday but no wind. However, Sunday the winds started out about 12-14 and were up to 17-20 by the time I left at 2:00. Kited for 2 hours and then called the wife and we did some cross country skiing. The soccer field was the choice due to the snow coverage. There was about 7-8 inches on top of a grassy field. I left with the ski's looking like new. It is a small area but not bad for the first session. Like most urban kiting there were lots of spectators. With the predicted warm temps it will be trashed until the next storm. Maybe this year we will have some valley kiting-get out and explore.

If we get valley snow this year I'm also looking at the Dinosaur park at the mouth of Ogden Canyon and the old DDO grounds. There is even a nice field on Hill AFB that would work. There is also some terrain over by the Weber County landfill. They are starting to build some houses by there but there is lots of room left. It is hilly and has pretty good wind since it sits at the mouth of Weber Canyon. It sure saves gas and time.
