1/11 PC Dump - EBA (Epic Brush Adventure)

I was on my way to Strawberry when I received a text from Jake that the wind wasn't on. We decided to go to the Park City Dump. I rigged a 17 and rode for a bit, but decided to go to the 19 and handed off my 17 to Billy. Ever in search of 3D terrain, Jake and I decided to climb the highest hill. I was about 1/3 the way up when I dropped one tip to low and one small bridle got caught on some scrub oak. If you think sage brush is bad, scrub oak is a foil kiters worst nightmare. Thus began the EBA. Spent about 20 minutes just getting my kite out of the scrub. Fortunately, nothing was damaged, but the bridles were all messed up. Spent another 20 minutes sorting the bridles. Then walked about 10 minutes to a less brushy area in hip deep snow. I then proceeded to break, smash and bury the sage and scrub in the vicinity of my kite - not out of frustration (have to admit I was a bit frustrated by this point). Launched the kite and of course one line caught on some scrub. Ten more minutes to straighten out kite. By this time it was getting dark. Managed to launch kite and once again a line caught on some scrub and turned the kite over. Said a prayer (I am the kite bishop), reverse-launched the kite and miracle of miracles the kite went up into the sky unencumbered. I hurried and rode back to the launch in some nice wind just in time before Jake and Billy organized a rescue. Funny thing is that when I had my epic mud adventure they were both there as well - I guess my mission is to make sure that they are not tempted by foil kites. So far, so good!
