flowrider

so, the typical winter midweek riding blues has got me down. no daylight to go out kiting after work anymore, and the valley just isn't holding snow well.

and then i remembered seeing an article in outside magazine. apparently ogden has a flowrider at the salomon center....

anybody rode one of these things? for those that don't know, it looks like a plastic wave that they shoot moving water over for a "surfing" ride. seems like i can get good and injured in good fun in short time. group rates seem reasonable. $30 an hour, or 200 for half the wave for an hour. maybe we can have a windriders night. might cure the weekday blues, who knows.

ogden locals- you have any more info?

If nothing else its fun watching kids get whiplash. It looks border line brutal. You,ve a great idea. Id love to watch the windriders knock themselves out. Can already picture you tearing it up, sal with big casual whipeouts, marty looking cool till catching an edge BAM, billy getting loopy. Ill meet you there to ride, just need some peer pressure and one other fat guy to join me. When do you want to go?

Mike,
I went on Monday. Buddy of mine and I had a good time. Not much like surfing, but entertaining nonetheless. Its probably more like skiing on those indoor carpet deals. For $25 an hour though, better than flying to Costa Rica or Hawaii!

I wish the Ogden Center had one of those Barrel flowrider. IF they did, I will be a all-year round pass rider there.

Looks like fun and entertaining. The one in Ogden doesn't barrel? That's a shame. I'll need some cross training before my yearly surf trip. Actually, lots of paddling is the cross training I need before a big surf trip. This year we're going to El Salvador.
