1/26 First Snow Kite lesson

Postby Sarah Ranes » Mon Jan 28, 2008 9:29 am

I talked Linda into giving snowkiting a try, since I miss our summer windsurfing fun so much. We hooked up with Eric G from Fun Seekers to get us started. He was great, and got us setting up and flying a 4M pretty quickly. Then on to the skis, to get ourselves moving. Then I got to try out a 6M and had a pretty good time with that, and got moving a little better. Linda took over the 4 to try with her skiis, and got some rides too. It was great to be out moving with the wind power again. It was a perfect, sunny, breezy, but cold day. I think we both agreed that we would like to try it again. And then OH NO..... maybe more gear.

Our lesson was in the field, just south of the turn off for Kamas, East of Park City. I thought it was supreme conditions for our first time out, having it sunny was a bonus too. Only down side was that to start, we had to walk way up wind, into the wind, on our skiis. I guess that's doing the walk of shame before you even start? We had some fun!
