Herriman LDS feilds 11m frenzy superbowl sunday

Postby Mark Johnson » Sun Feb 03, 2008 4:43 pm

After getting a good dose of snow here in West Jordan I figured I would try the nearby feilds in Herriman.
Parked at the Hollywood video parking lot. Rode for about 15 min. Then Sal showed up and we tracked it out pretty good.
We would hit bottom here and there but no dammage to the board. It was a fun place to ride with some long reaches but not to good for jumping in the foot or so of thick snow.
It would have helped to have a good wax on the board. I doubt it will last with warmer South wind blowing over it.

Mark,
Where did you guys ride at? Did you hit the field at 13400 S. and about 4500 W.? I've ridden a few times there now and found that the best area is the southwest corner. I'll drive down Monarch Meadows Pathway till you can see the field and then pull off the side of the rode and start right therre. The dirt underneath the snow is much softer, and less rocky in this section of the field. You will start hitting stuff if you go too far east. I rode there today and the snow was at least over a foot. Hope it will be good for a week or so.

We were a bit farther west. At the Hollywood Video parking lot. It was blowing from the South, I think on a North wind the northwest corner of the feild might be better.
I am not sure if I will be able to make it out their again before this weekend and then I will be at Pow Mow.
