S. Padre advice?

Postby mike loeser » Sun Mar 02, 2008 10:09 pm

I am heading to S. Padre and know a few of you have kited there in the past. Any recommendations for butter water, smooth winds and the kicker here, a place my wife would enjoy? Should be a fun trip. Anything else to do there but kite?

I would head straight to the kite shop in the middle of town and have them show you the spots to kite.
They do try and sell a access pass to the beach for like 10 bucks. I am not sure if this is mandatory to get access or if the are still doing this.
It was good for the whole weekend though.
As far as things for the wife to do.
Tell her to sit back and enjoy the fine weather drink a margarita and watch the pretty kites. Or go shopping.

Eat the worlds best Shrimp...
every meal.

The kiting is extra easy to figure out when you are there.
You don't really need any tips.
If you see kites in the air, go kiting.
Flat in the bay, mushy waves in the Gulf.
Kinda boring place if no wind.
So just go eat more shrimp if its not windy.

Thanks for the tips. Should be good. Weather should be in the high 70's, which will be enough to make me happy. Planning on eating plenty of shrimp!
