Winds of Change (Where to Ride 3/26)

Postby Craig Goudie » Wed Mar 26, 2008 9:43 am

Good morning Windriders, and welcome to another season of (liquid) joy.
There's some potential for wind today and tomorrow, and the water is pretty fluid, so,
I'd suggest a chance at some gusty, but reasonable wind at both Rush and UL (Saratoga Springs Park).
It'll be really gusty at both places while it remains South, but should switch North around 3 PM at Rush,
and about 5PM at UL launches. Windsurfers might get a shot at a couple of hours of 6.5 at UL
before the rain comes in at dusk. Likewise Kiters should get some moderately gusty 12M stuff at Rush,
but lightening is a possibility, so please be careful out there. (Think 60 degree air temps and be prepared)

Tomorrow looks like a good PM shot at planable clearing North winds at UL and Rush after the clouds clear
out (about 3PM). Not as strong as today, but steadier, and much colder (like 40s).

Welcome Back. It's great to have your take on the wind. I was thinking the same for today. West in the forecast seems to make Rush really nasty. I'm like a deer in the headlights this time of year. Water or Snow. Probably Rush to day and Strawbs tomorrow or maybe even ULLB. Don't know about kiting at Saratoga. Better on North or South, how about kite launching?
Thanks again for all your effort to make life more Fun and SAFE for us wind addicts.

Hey Jon,

A Kite launch at Saratoga would be tough, but I "hear" Lindon is pretty launchable right now.
Saratoga Springs Park (South of where we used to launch from Rocky point) is more of a North wind
launch for Windsurfers. Kiteboarders might want to stick to the East and South sides of the lake.
