pulled in about 1:15, rigged the 7.5 and was sailing at 1:30. Some lulls but mostly planning. Linda and sarah showed at 3:30 and carl shortly after. Carl was still on his 9.0 when I left at 6:00pm.

And loving it btw. No motor traffic at all. 3, 4, and 5 full reach wound up puffs. Coulda sailed formula but figured lbig slalom gear would be good for efficiency training, not to mention the turns. Sarah rode her f-board and made it look good on all kinds of angles, so I chased her. She really rides her gear.

There was some north included so you could pinch up almost perpendicular to the dam, squarely into the swell, on starboard, easily driving into the pocket upwind of the launch area before jibing. On port the best you could do was about 45 degrees above parallel. Meanwhile going extra deep on port could take you almost straight over the backs of the running swell and well down the lake's length with heat. Just keep your bow clear, a real consideration anytime and especially with the near absent, flat nosed hammerhead iSonic. No problem though and there's nothing like pinning it off the wind and driving it like you stole it. Sarah came over afterwards to see where the nose rocker went. There's a little there, more than enough apparently, but you have to look carefully.

Sounds like your training for a race, maybe the gorge blowout? July 28-29th. Rick H could use some company. I am still on the fence, half or full version?

George W saves the day

Ward that is. I showed up at Sulpher with half of a universal. John D. now you can laugh.... I almost did not get to sail, Thanks to George, who had an extra, I got to sail....Thanks again George!

I never expected as much wind as we found, and The 9.0 and formula board were at the limit of what I can handle and have fun with, in those kind of gust. I could have been on a 6.5 with some of the strong gusts. Thanks Carl, for suggesting that I did well...., I for sure hit all angles of travel on the lake, but I have to say, I was worn out quickly.

Linda's boom broke on her, the front carbon piece, just cracked, the arms and tail piece, look fine. Sad part is I just sold mine at the swap in HR last weekend. Oh well, I guess we better keep more gear here next year, or at least have a better check list of what is needed to sail.
